
Ultimately, there is a bit too much grind involved to actually “complete” the game. Mind you, I play games with the goal to complete them, and Darkest Dungeon is a game that doesn’t want you to finish it. That means that the first 20 hours of the game was brilliant, the next 10 were pretty good, and the last 15, I was ready for the game to be over. For reference, Steam says I spent 45 hours with the game, which is probably a bit of an exaggeration since I left it running a few times, but let’s assume its close. I really loved the first half of my playtime with the game. Once heroes enter the Darkest Dungeon, they are not allowed to go back. Basically, you need at the bare minimum 16, fully decked out level 6 heroes in order to finish the game.



The final dungeon is brutal and I don’t really agree with how they balanced the endgame.
